Ships in the harbour.

"Ships in the harbour are safe, buts thats not what ships are built for". -John Shedd
Thats inspirational; we are like a ship in the harbour but God wants to take us beyond!
Isn't that exciting? When we say yes to God and let him pull up our anchor and set sail, that is the most fulfilling thing that we can feel up to that point. To be in the open sea with God at the helm. Can life get any better? A storm comes, were are tossed about the seas are rough. But God is still at the helm and life is exhilarating you have weathered a storm with God's help. Another storm comes the same thing happens you come through feeling like you can conquer anything. Then another storm comes, your losing, the waves are crashing, the wind is howling. Where are you? You fight and you fight, and you keep fighting. You have done this before right? Why is it so hard? Look to the helm, who is the captain this time? Is it God? Or have you taken the helm? If its the latter, do you wonder why your drowning? Have you found yourself at the helm of a ship in the open sea in a raging storm with no experience at the helm? Yes, leaving the harbour is a wonderful thing, but don't EVER try to be the captain of the ship. You will find yourself  drowning. If this is where you are give the wheel back and you will once again find the storms conquerable. And you will find once again the joy and fulfillment of sailing with God. So go conquer the open seas, they are calling, God is calling. But, don't ever take the wheel for there is one who has created the seas who is ready to take your helm and make it his.
